Video: Student will video what they have learned while researching fire safety and what they have learned while completing this project.

1. Ability to navigate various sites provided via Diigo.
2. Ability to record their findings on their iPad. |
Students will be given an overview of Diigo and their video recorder prior to the start of this lesson. If students struggle during this activity, the teacher can provide small group instruction during or after the allotted time to help the students reach their goals.

Journal: Student will create a journal entry on their iPad utilizing My Story. They will share their ideas for their presentation to be given on day four.

1. Ability to utilize the features of the My Story application on their iPad.

Students will be given time to utilize the My Story application prior to this lesson. If students struggle during this activity, the teacher can provide small group instruction during or after the allotted time to help the students reach their goals.

Presentation: Students will create a Keynote presentation on their iPad in order to present their learning to the class.

1. Ability to utilize the features of the Keynote application on their iPad.

Students will need time to practice using the Keynote application prior to this lesson. If students struggle during this activity, the teacher can provide small group instruction during or after the allotted time to help the students reach their goals.

Differentiated Instruction
This project is open-ended in nature, allowing a student's interests, creativity, and level of understanding of a topic to be the driving force. If students require a slightly different project, the following adaptations may be used:
Students who need adaptations to the project will be given what they need to be successful. Some possible adaptations may include:
- One-on-one time with teacher to complete research or projects
- A video presentation rather than a Keynote presentation
- A multi-slide presentation with pictures or video

- Fieldtrip to firehall may require adaptation of physical activities to ensure all can participate
- Assistance by the teacher or paraprofessional for the use of the iPad
- Option to create the products via computer if needed
- Use of Dragon Dictation or other application for language assistance
- Project activities may be adapted if a student has an idea on how to better complete the learning goals
